I have been writing posts on this blog for a little over five months now and realized that I have never formally introduced myself.

My name is Steve Volkers and I work with Keller Williams Realty to help individuals buy and sell homes in Grand Rapids, Michigan and the surrounding area.

Alger Heights a Great Place Live and Raise a Family!

I grew up in Alger Heights, which is on the southeast side of Grand Rapids.

In Alger Heights there is a wonderful mix of homes. You have one and a half story starter homes to the larger 2 story home with plenty of room.

I think I liked Alger Heights so much as a child because I felt safe there. Also, there were always plenty of friends my age and my parents always knew all our neighbors. It still is that way still today even though I have moved away from there but wish to move back some day soon.

Friends of mine say they love to take walks through the Alger Heights neighborhood. They tell me it’s like days gone by where you still are able to get to know your neighbors and know that you can always ask them for a cup of milk to finish what you’re baking that evening.
